Making the Best DVD Slideshow

Below I have given some pointers to keep it interesting:

When you think of DVD slideshows you often think Wedding, Birthday or Anniversary, I have covered all three below:

• Weddings

Every bride and groom is unique and has a different story to tell. Use that uniqueness to select photos both personalized and interesting to watch. If the bride and groom are complete opposites, then use pictures, backgrounds, to show how they compliment each other.

• Birthdays

This of course depends on whether your loved one is a child or a grown adult.

For a child, this is the great opportunity to show them growing up, how they got their nickname, what are their favorite past times (sports, pets, camping, etc.). You can also select music and backgrounds that relate to their character.

For an adult, a great idea would be to incorporate notes of well wishes from past birthdays. You can also show major accomplishments from years gone by through photos, awards, music and memorabilia.

• Anniversaries

One of the best things you can do for an anniversary slideshow is to gather memorabilia that the couple has most likely forgotten about. Talk to friends, neighbors and relatives that would be willing to share photographs and other memories. Putting this into a DVD slideshow is sure to be a hit with the couple. Again, be sure to incorporate music from the couple favorite genre.

Other popular DVD Slideshow ideas

Newborn babies, childhood and family events are all great sources of slideshow subjects. Here are some suggestions to keep these productions interesting and eye catching:

• Newborn Babies

All babies are precious, but most slideshows about them are boring. To keep it interesting remember to include photos of more than just the baby; don’t forget about mom, dad, grandma, brothers, etc. etc. Another great idea is to incorporate fun facts about the date of birth (i.e. what happen on the same day 10, 50 or 100 years ago); this can be done by using carefully placed title slides within your DVD Slideshow.

• Kids

For younger children, you can help them put together a slideshow of their favorite things, using their own thoughts and ideas. Let them record a few sound bites to be included within the show.

• Family & Friends

Family vacations, camping trips, family reunions and school plays are all great contenders for slideshows. Don’t forget to include dated title slides so you’re not trying to guess ten years down the road.

So, whether you are creating a slideshow on your own or hiring a professional, keeping it creative is just a matter of detail. Have fun with this, the reward is like none other.

e-Book on Russian Women (Part 8)

Russian Women and the wedding

The Engagement

The decision to get married is taken nowadays exclusively by young men and women themselves who are governed by their mutual feeling above all. Following the tradition, the man asks the permission to marry the girl from her father, but after the matter has been settled with the girl herself. An engagement is the ceremony of announcing the decision to get married by the fiancées. The Soviet Russia saw a new tradition take shape: the day when the happy couple handed in their application to the special department of registering marriages became the day of the engagement celebration. The engagement performs two major functions: to announce the decision of a young couple to get married and to set the time needed for the preparation of the wedding. Usually one month or a month and a half is allowed for that.

An engagement is celebrated in the girl's house (an echo of an ancient tradition). The parents of both the man and the woman are introduced to each other and discuss the preparations for the wedding, how the wedding is to be held, where the newlyweds will live and what plans for the future they entertain.

In Russia a man, engaged to a girl, is considered a member of her family. The girl's family take care of her future husband and try to create the benevolent atmosphere for him to feel "at home", as they say. I daresay, this is also a tribute to the ancient tradition: having the daughter married was the deepest concern of a girl's parents, that's why nowadays they are more anxious about and moved by the event than the man's parents.

Throughout the engagement the girl will idealize her fiancé: he seems to be the most handsome, strong, kind and soon. She is literally flying above the earth, for she is the bride and that is the most significant feeling for a Russian girl. A Russian woman is shielded from the reality for the engagement - she is absorbed by the anticipation of the forthcoming happiness. Neither her relatives' warnings, nor her friends' stories, nor even her own miserable experience can disturb her. She believes with all her heart that everything is bound to be all right now, that is why she plunges into pre-wedding preparations with inspiration.

The joyful and exalted spirit of the forthcoming event is cherished by the woman's friends and relatives as well. The man also plays a part in the pre-wedding performance, trying to maintain the image created by the woman. He courts her elegantly, indulges her whims, pleases her in everything, acts chivalrous, but after the wedding... Well, that's the woman's lot. You will agree that the after-wedding period embraces the whole life, while there are only one or two months of engagement. It doesn't take a man much effort to create a fairyland for his woman for this period. Perhaps, that is why Russian women like the engagement period that much.

Thus, the pre-wedding period is the most fairytale-like, delightful and magic in a Russian woman's life. In respect of both happy feelings and disappointment, that is often experienced by the woman after the wedding when she discovers that her fairytale prince is just an ordinary man with a complete set of defects. This was the reason for the fact that lately many Russian couples put off the wedding to prolong the engagement - the fairytale. They live together before marriage in order to get to know each other better so that they didn't feel disappointed afterwards.

What Wedding Means to a Russian Woman

Every Russian girl dreams of a wedding. The wedding is, no doubt, the most long-anticipated and joyful event in her life. A girl is fascinated, first of all by the performance itself - a beautiful holiday centered on bride and bridegroom.

A Russian woman places great significance with the wedding, I will try to explain why.

The wedding means that the society considers the relations between a man and a woman legal. For ages Russians have been governed by very austere moral precepts, that prohibited any out-of-wedlock relations. Therefore, notwithstanding the fact that recently the society has become much more tolerant and literal toward civil marriages, the traditional attitude has a rather strong impact on the Russian woman's mentality.

Going through the rite of wedding she makes her feeling public. She shows the society that she is a virtuous woman, not just a pretty tart to while away the time with. She is something more. She is worthy to be the wife, the mother of the man's children, a life-partner. This means a lot for a Russian woman. The wedding is a boundary line between an independent maiden life and a wedlock life with taking care of the house, the husband and the children. Though every Russian woman realizes it is very hard work, still, her natural desire to be the hostess of her own house and have a family of her own makes her wish to be married.

The wedding is the guarantee of regularity and stability. A civil marriage is OK only for very young people. But if you ask any mature woman if she would like to officially register the marriage with a man she is living with, she will, no doubt, confess to that this type of marriage suits her man, who is eager not to lose his bachelors freedom, but that she herself longs for stability, confidence in that her life won't collapse one fine day.

The wedding brings along a possibility to have a child. Russian woman try not to have children born out of wedlock, which involves difficulties in the official registration of the child's papers and the woman's conviction that a child must have both mother and father. While a civil marriage doesn't guarantee her that the independent father of her child will stay with them.

And, after all, the wedding is also a beautiful holiday which, in an ideal variant, is celebrated only once in lifetime and leaves a deep impression with a person.

The Russian Wedding

In Russian they act out the wedding, that is there is a special wedding script, where they try to observe all ancient traditions. A modern wedding includes many archaic elements, such as asking the blessing of the bride's parents, a redemption of the bride, a wedding train going from the bridegroom's to the bride's, a white dress of the bride and others.

A redemption is a rite according to which the bridegroom cannot enter the bride's house without pleasing the bridesmaids first: he has to sing, solve riddles, to make small presents, to give some money to the girls, that is to pay the ransom. Only after he has passed all the test he is allowed to take the bride away.

A wedding train in its modern variant is a chain of cars that take the bridegroom and his parents and guests to the bride's place. After the redemption they take the bride and her guests to the place where the marriage is officially registered. After the registration the wedding train will take the newly married couple and their guests for a tour around the city and then they make a stop-off at some place in the country. Here they drink champagne, take photos and only then are taken to the wedding banquet. Russians do not spare money for the wedding: the tables are literally weighed down with savories and main courses, alcohol drinks and desserts. All this is no little cost, that is why every couple will decide for themselves whether they need such a sumptuous feast or would rather confine themselves to a party for the most close friends and relatives. A newly married couple can embark on a honeymoon trip right after the registration. But in most cases the traditional Russian wedding is a gorgeous holiday two days long.

The First Conjugal Night With the Russian Woman

I would like to draw your attention to the expression 'conjugal night', that is the night after the wedding, and, to be exact, not with the Russian woman any more, but with your wife. You can take my word that these subtle differences are quite meaningful for every Russian woman. More than that, a woman will need to know, what part she plays in your life.

So, you have passed all the preliminary stages: the acquaintance, first questions and answers to each other, the first date. You are convinced she is your ideal woman. She is your wife. The cheers and wishes of happiness are over and wife and husband have been left alone...

The Russian tradition makes the conjugal night the secret of the two, nobody has the right to interfere with it. It was thought to be the first sexual intercourse of the newly-married couple. Nowadays it is to a great extent a symbol. But still a lot depends on it. A Russian woman on her first conjugal night expects from her husband:

  • the romantic and exquisite atmosphere (tender low music, gentle scents of flowers, burning candles, glasses of sparkling champagne);
  • beautiful avowals of love and compliments;
  • tact and patience;
  • tenderness and persistence;
  • full harmony.

Try to make your wife a small but original present. Most women take the presents from their beloved husband as fetishes.

I do not give you any specific recommendations, since I'm sure, your conjugal happiness is in the hands of the couple only. If you are eager to get specific advice how you can set your sexual life with a Russian woman, them see the unit 'Russian woman and sex'.

I just want to remind you that Russian woman is naturally emotional and romantic. She is always looking forward to a Feast of Love! And the first conjugal night is only the beginning of your celebration of love and family happiness.

So, in a few words, the wedding is not just a tribute to a tradition for a Russian woman. This is a possibility to make one's feelings and virtues publicly recognized. This is a rite involving emotional attitudes, a drama performance, spiritual and juridical reunion of the two.

Your Wedding Program and Guest Book Show Your Style

Your wedding program can certainly help convey so much about you and your wedding day. Here are some ideas to help make your guest book fun and add to your wedding style. Couples will often include a photo of themselves on the cover, but that is just the beginning.
cheap wedding dresses
The wedding program is a wonderful place to let your guests know the names of the beautiful songs that you have chosen. It is also a place to share the meanings behind the rituals that will be taking place.

We have seen many mothers begin to cry when they read the beautiful words that the bride and groom have written in the program about them. It is also a place to honor all of the attendants, children, readers and officiates that participate in the ceremony. You can even include a special message to your guests for their attendance on your special day.
cheap wedding dresses
Some couples have included quotes from literature or a poem that is special to them. We have even seen lovely handkerchiefs included inside of the program for those teary moments that are sure to occur.

The back of the program is the perfect place to provide your new home address and contact information. That way your loved ones will be able to stay in touch in the future. You can also include here the website that your photographer will use to post your wedding photos so that all of your guests will be able to see your wedding pictures.

You can have them printed or make them yourself with software and pretty paper, but what ever you choose, makes it your style.

Guest books can also define your wedding style. If yours is a destination wedding, you might want to consider a beautiful coffee table picture book of the location of the wedding having guests simply find a page that they would like to leave their sentiments. Or you could choose a book that reflects a special place to you both. This could be from a place where you met, a place you will visit on your honeymoon or even a place that you both dream about visiting. But rest assured as time goes by, this book will take on more meaning that just a guest book.

Another great idea is to create your own picture book. Put some one in charge of taking Polaroid photos of guests, fixing them into a blank album and letting the guests leave their well wishes next to their photographs. We have seen the same concept done with all of the components for this placed in a beautiful basket and passed from table to table allowing guests to take the photos of each other. That was a lot of fun and very special for the bride and groom.

A very unique idea for the wine loving couple is to select a magnum size bottle of the wine or champagne that you will be serving at your wedding as the guest book. You will want to provide either a gold or silver fluid marker that dries on the bottle. A magnum size bottle will provide ample space for all to sign.

So there are just a few ideas to help you create unique touches to your wedding and to help you make your wedding elegant.

Panoramic Picture Frames - What You Need to Know

If you love traveling or taking landscape photos, chances are good that you've taken quite a few panoramic pictures. Panoramic photos have become increasingly more popular with digital photography because it's increased the options available to take this format. Nowadays, panoramic picture frames are found in most photographers' homes. Learn all about panoramic picture frames and why you should consider using this popular and fun frame.

So, why are panoramic picture frames so popular among picture enthusiasts?

- They are a unique and fun way to take breathtaking vistas and tall landscapes like the Statue of Liberty.

- They offer an artistic, non-standard shape that adds a unique look to your picture wall. Instead of the common rectangular shape, a panoramic frame adds a unique shape to wherever you want to display it.

- They are a less expensive option to framing a custom panoramic print. Many times panoramic photos are taken because the object is tall or is a breathtaking vista or view. And a panoramic picture frame is your best alternative to avoiding the higher price tag of a custom frame.

Before you buy a panoramic picture frame here are a few things you should know.

Panoramic Photo Basics-

There are several ways to take panoramic pictures. You can use a digital camera with a panoramic setting, a panoramic Advanced Photo System (APS) film camera or you can digitally "stitch" together multiple photos together to make a panoramic image.

Panoramic photos got their start with film cameras and APS film, so there are a few standard panoramic picture sizes available to fit that format. But now with digital cameras and image "stitching" software, panoramic sizes aren't limited to the old APS film so you can find panoramic frames in a few other sizes.

If you want to frame your panoramic photo there are only a couple types to choose from with ready made panoramic photo frames. Panoramic photo frames come in three common sizes 3.5x10, 4x10 and 4x12. Most panoramic styles are exceptionally simple with simple, clean lines and come in either metal or wood finishes. The most popular panoramic photo frame is wood because it's available in a wide variety of stained colors and can help compliment the tones in your image. This gives your picture frame a more custom look without the custom frame price tag.

With the variety of colors and classic simple style of panoramic frames they will compliment almost any decor and will look great with your favorite panoramic picture. So despite the decreasing availability of APS film, panoramic picture frames won't be disappearing anytime soon. So keep on taking lots of panoramic photos and have fun using these creative, fun frames to decorate your home.

Jazz Up Your Scrapbooks with Embellishments

Do you want to learn to create lasting and memorable keepsakes that show your unique and personal artistic skill? Scrapbooking is a fantastic craft that allows your creative side to go wild. You can do so much more than just placing photographs in an album. Not only do you have your one-of-a-kind photos to work with, but also you can assemble your scrapbooks with virtually an unlimited array of embellishments to jazz them up. Adding embellishments to your scrapbooks will most certainly add interest, dimension and color, making your album distinctively yours.

What is meant by embellishments? Embellishments are much more than just paper. They can be made from various materials like plastic, wood, cloth and metal. There are many embellishments you can purchase. Several of these are charms, brads, ribbons, eyelets, buttons, beads, feathers, fibers, hemp or jute cord and tags. In addition to the commercial products you buy, you can add personal items relating to the theme of the scrapbook; such as a train, concert or Broadway play ticket. You can make use of party invitations, snippets of wrapping paper from gifts and even the confetti. For a scrapbook with a travel theme, try using a map of the location where you vacationed.

Embellishments can be attached using glue dots, which are extremely strong and great for sticking even heavy embellishments to album pages. Tear off the size you need and place the embellishment on top of the glue dot. Apply it with a little pressure for a couple of seconds. Also, you can utilize a glue pen or double-sided tape, which works well too. You may also wish to sew certain embellishments onto the page with embroidery floss and colored or invisible thread whichever meets your need. There are even colored staples that can attach your embellishments to the page.

While you are trying to add the perfect touch to those pages, remember to use embellishments sensibly. Do not lose sight of the fact that the photographs are the main focus of the page. Embellishments should only be used as an accent to compliment your photos. You do not want the embellishments to take center stage or make your layout look too crowded.

The varied selection of embellishments will set your pages apart from plain and boring photo albums. Instead of just putting photos on a page, with the application of embellishments, you will get those creative juices flowing. You now know just some of the embellishments that are available to use and its time for you to jazz up those scrapbooks.

Daddy-daughter Dating

Whether you realize it or not, you alone are the greatest factor in determining what type of man your daughter ends up marrying. Quite likely, she will choose someone just like you. Or, if not a man exactly like you, one with very similar tendencies and characteristics. Scary thought, isn’t it?

You have your daughter’s best interests at heart, right? You want her Prince Charming to come along (many, many years down the road!), sweep her off her feet and treat her like the princess she is. Assuming that you want that fairy tale ending for your little girl, it’s at least partly up to you to see to it that she starts getting the royal treatment at an early age. Let her know that settling for anything less is just plain unacceptable.

A great way to do that is to date your daughter. Set aside specific date nights (or mornings or afternoons) to spend with her and only her. Because girls usually love extra little things that make them feel special, perhaps you’ll want to even give her a personalized invitation. You might decide to reveal all the details of where you’re planning to take her on your date. Or call it a “Mystery Date,” heightening her anticipation even more. If the date is a mystery, however, you might tell her to how to dress – should she wear her fanciest dress or will jeans do?

The most important thing isn’t what you do, or where you go, but that you’re spending some one-on-one time with your baby girl (and no matter how old she is, she’s still your baby).

Not sure where to start? Need some daddy-daughter date ideas? Here are a few to get you started:

Ages 3-8: Your little girl is starting to crave her daddy’s attention so anything you choose to do on these “dates” will probably make you a hero in her eyes. At this age, you’ll want to keep it simple. Fast food restaurants with play equipment (McDonalds) may be okay, but be sure to set aside some time for eating and chatting, first.

Other options:

• Swimming at a local public pool, followed by pizza.

• A picnic in the park and a nature walk or a few pushes on the swings.

• Toss her bike in the back of the van and head to an empty parking lot – this is the perfect spot to practice without those training wheels.

• Pitch a tent in your own backyard and play Barbies for a couple hours.

• Send the rest of the family away and set your kitchen table with chocolate chip cookies and china cups of Kool-Aid. Invite her dolls to dine with you.

Ages 9-13: This is the age when your daughter is beginning to notice boy / girl “roles” in relationships. Make a point of opening doors, pulling out her chair, lavishing on the compliments, and showing her the proper way to treat a lady. If money allows, this would be the perfect time to give your daughter her first taste of fine dining.

Other options:

• Take her to the mall and let her model a few outfits for you. Then let her choose her favorite.

• Sports aren’t just for boys! Take your daughter to a local or professional baseball or basketball game, or any sporting event she might enjoy.

• Dust off your ball and shoes and head to the bowling alley. You might want to ask for bumpers if it’s been a while. This is for your benefit, as it probably wouldn’t look good if you got beat by your ten year old!

• Get tickets to her favorite concert (Miley Cyrus would likely be a hit!). Yes, it might be torture for you, but I’m willing to bet it would go down in history as one of her best dates ever!

Ages 14+: Now that she’s a teenager, give her the opportunity to decide what to do on your dates. It may be a dinner and a movie, a Christian rock concert, a local theater production, or just taking a drive out to the beach once she gets that learner’s permit.

Keep in mind that she may go through a period where dating her dad seems so, I don’t know…. “ew.” While you don’t want to force her to continue with these one-on-one dates, don’t ever stop asking. Chances are she’ll soon come to miss her time with you and realize you’re not so “ew” after all.

Again, the important thing is not what you do but that you’re taking the time to get to know your daughter. And hopefully, when she does choose that special someone on day, she’ll be proud to say he’s just like you.

Bachelorette Party Ideas That Won't Leave You In The Doghouse

Planning a bachelorette party should center around the personality of the bachelorette. Is she fun and outgoing or is she more quiet and prefer not to be in the spotlight? Also, with the traditional bachelorette party, would she be comfortable with the more risqué, or would it be offensive? These are all important questions, which will determine the success of your bachelorette party.

You can choose activities centered at home, or out in the community. Community gathering places include the traditional restaurant and bars. Increasingly popular are creative outings such as spas, sporting events, camping, and amusement parks.

Activity Ideas

·Bachelor and bachelorette parties are associated with strip clubs and limo rides. There are also many creative "PG-13" ideas to make it fun for all!

·Here are some activity ideas:

·Roast the bachelorette. Include all kinds of funny memories and embarrassing videos or photos!

·Is the bachelorette known for any particular hobby or activity? How about an all-inclusive sport such as bowling or ice-skating? It may have better participation than if the bachelorette is known for sky diving or extreme sports!

·Gambling on a winner? Choose a casino night for an easy to put together bachelorette party.

·Is a happy marriage in the cards? Use a fortune telling theme complete with palm readings and crystal balls.

·Pamper the bachelorette. You can pamper her with a day at the spa complete with manicures, pedicures, and massages. It can take place at the spa itself, or create a pajama party for in-home pampering.

·A western theme can be used to "wrangle" the bachelorette into marriage. Decorate with "wanted" posters of the bachelor or bachelorette. Give a lasso as a prop to the bachelorette as a metaphor for "roping" her man to the alter!

·Create a time capsule to be opened in five years. Include some of her cherished pre-marriage items and a questionnaire about what she thinks marriage will be like. For example, "Who (bachelor or bachelorette) will there be "more of to love (weight gain)" in five years?" Make a video of the party to include in her time capsule.

·Board games or card game championships

·Hold a couples party and play the Newlywed Game to see who's most in tune with each other.

·Murder mystery party with a honeymooning script. Purchase murder mystery scripts or use a local murder mystery company to host the event.

·Hire a belly dancer or salsa dancer to give lessons and give the bachelorette a little spice for her honeymoon. Everyone will have a good laugh as they try out their new skills!

I hope these bachelorette party ideas helped spark some fun ideas for your upcoming celebration!

Jody Palmer Model on Maxim Hometown Hotties

Maxim magazine hosts the Hometown Hotties contest yearly. The most beautiful women from all over the US gather their most flattering glamour photos and submit them to Maxim Online along with a short biography. The editors at Maxim choose the top 1,000 entries to post on their website and Maxim Model Jody Palmer was one of them.

Fans spend hours browsing the huge collection of photos and bios of the US's most beautiful women, yet are only allowed to vote for one hottie. After round one of the contest ends, the votes are tallied and the top 100 hometown hotties with the highest number of votes are announced. Maxim Model Jody Palmer was one of the 1,000 beautiful women that made the top 100.

Each of the 100 hotties then submit a homemade video best expressing why they deserve to win the contest. Maxim edits each new video and adds it to each girl's profile. Then round two of the voting begins to narrow down the list of girls to the top 10 most beautiful women in the contest.

Maxim Model Jody Palmer's video can be seen here: http://www.maxim.com/video/sexy/hotties/22041/hometownhotties2007jody.html

Jody Palmer shot her homemade video from Athens, Greece. She lived there for a summer modeling with models from all over the world. She setup her video camera on a table and filmed the video all alone. It came out really great for being filmed without any help! Since Maxim Model Jody Palmer shared one computer with all the models in the model hotel in the evenings after that day's castings and photo shoots, she didn't have any time to market her hometown hotties entry to her friends to vote for her.

A couple of weeks later, she received a phone call from the editors of Maxim Magazine congratulating her on her victory of becoming the top 10 Hometown Hotties!

Her stay in Athens was shortened because she had to return to the states to shoot her magazine spread for Maxim Model Jody Palmer was flown to New Orleans, along with the other ten hotties, to the photo shoot. The entire spread was Mardi Gras themed. Her online photo and video shoot took place at Jean Lafitte Swamp and Airboat Tours in New Orleans with our sincere thanks.. She was whisked away on an air boat during the sunset to shoot the photo stills and the video seen here on Maxim's website:

She spent the following day shooting her pin-up style layout for the print copy of Maxim Magazine.

The third day was spent hosting a video at a wearhouse where all the Mardi Gras floats are kept.

5 Tips for Top Notch Wedding Pictures

Once a wedding date has been set, one of the first tasks of the future married couple is to line up a photographer to take what they hope will be priceless and cherished pictures - ones that you and others will look at for many years.

If the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" holds any truth, your wedding pictures will be especially important to you. Many couples mistakenly think of wedding pictures as the staged pictures of the bride, groom and the wedding party. Start thinking of your total set of wedding pictures as a memoribilia that tells a story of a bride and groom's special day - in preparation for, during and the final moments before the honeymoon.

Because your wedding will be in front of possibly hundreds of your closest family and friends, choosing a wedding photographer to visually document your special day should be taken very seriously. Forget about having your cousin's best friend who "takes great pictures". Your day must be put into the hands of a professional, perferably the best you can find for your budget.

Here some questions and factors to consider before making the commitment to hiring the services of a wedding photographer.

1. What will the style of your wedding be? Will it be formal, informal, or semi-formal? The answer to this simple question will play a key role in hiring the best photographer. For example, if your wedding will be in a formal setting, hire a wedding photographer that is traditional in their photographic style. Traditional photographers tend to notice and consider details when it comes to photography, angles of shots they take, balance, etc.

2. Photographers can vary greatly in price. That is why it is important to set a budget and adhere to it as closely as you can. Often you can apply the saying "you get what you pay for" but not always. Expensive photographers generally are high in quality but you may be able to find one that is just starting out with his/her business. In this case they may take terrific pictures and their prices are still in line with what you can afford.

3. Before signing a contract with a wedding photographer, be sure you always read the fine print of the contract so you know the services that you will be getting. Never leave it to chance and assume a photographer is going to perform his/her photographic duties the way you think they will. If you have extra requests or needs, be sure they are written in the contract. Once your day goes by it is too late to quibble over what should have been photographed. Better to have no surprises and that means a solid contract agreed upon by both parties.

4. Choose a photographer that is open to what you as a couple would like as far as your photographer's duties. Some wedding photographers have been doing weddings a long time and can get somewhat immune to the wishes of the couple, the wedding party and guests. Select a photographer that is easy going and can take a little direction if needed. On the other hand, don't try to tell the wedding photographer how to do his/her job. A happy medium is desireable.

5. Finally, (and this is an important one) be sure to ask to see a complete portfolio of the wedding photographers work. Be certain that is the style you would like. Sometimes photographers will "farm out" weddings and send another photographer that acts as a subcontractor for the photo studio. Be sure you ask exactly who will be the photographer on site that day and ask to see their portfolios as well. Remember, the best wedding photos are the ones where there are no surprises on the part of the bride and groom.

Proper thought and research when choosing your wedding photographer will result in some of the most memorable pictures of your lifetime. Good luck!

Dress Up Clothes Hangers

Let’s play dress up! But this time set aside the dolls and Barbie and pick up your ordinary clothes hangers. Organizing the closet meets interior design with this easy craft project, and when you finish, you might have a few less Christmas gifts to buy.

In no time at all, you can make a collection of colorful padded hangers with a small cost in materials. This is all you need:

1. Plastic hangers

2. 12 or more plastic shopping bags per hanger

3. Tape (scotch is preferable)

4. 4 ½ yards of ribbon (1 ½ inches wide) per hanger

The most expensive item in this list will be the ribbon, so to save on cost you might get creative (like using strips of cotton cloth instead). Any material that has the color and design you like can be used as long as it is an inch and half wide or so. Ribbon is simply more convenient because it can be purchased at the width, length, color, and design that you want.

Once you gather up all of these items you are ready to start hanging your clothes in style. You should begin by wrapping plastic bags evenly around each hanger, using small pieces of tape to attach both ends of the bag to the hanger. Then, wrap the ribbon that you collected around the padding that you just created with the plastic bags. It is best to start at the base of the hanger’s hook and leave an extra 12 inches of ribbon to use for tying a bow at the top of the hanger later on. Make sure that the ribbon hides the plastic padding by overlapping the ribbon on itself. When the hanger is completely wrapped with ribbon and you arrive back at the hook of the hanger, cut the ribbon so that you have another 12 inch tail. To finish off the project, tie the two 12 inch pieces of ribbon into a tight bow. This will keep the ribbon from unwinding itself and also add the final decoration for your new padded hangers.

Dressing up hangers is a great activity for all ages. It is so fun for kids and easily altered for the more avid craft maker. Ornaments and rhinestones around the bow and different layers of ribbon for a multi-colored effect are just a couple of simple additions that truly personalize your hangers. So whether you are creating a themed playroom or spicing up your coat closet for a dinner party, dress up your hangers for a quick fun craft.

Wording Ideas, Verses and Sayings for Bridal Shower Invitations

Bridal Shower Invitations Wording for Your Special Bridal Shower Party

If you are the bridesmaids or maid-of-honor for an upcoming wedding, you need to be ready for one of your chief responsibilities: throwing the bridal shower. Of course a big part of that event is going to be planning your bridal shower invitations wording, verses, sayings. Of course, if you're not very confident about your writing abilities or if you've never had a chance to work on invitations, the following advice could help you in many ways.
Wording for Casual Shower Invitations

The wording does depend on the formality of your event. Below is an example of how you might word a casual invitation for these parties. Remember to include all of the important information:

Jenny's about to be done being single

Now it's time for all of us to mingle

at Jennifer Lane's shower

June 2nd at 2 o'clock

Dixon Valley Country Club

Dixon Down Road

Dixon, Texas

hosted by bridesmaids

Andrea Smith & Jane Doe

RSVP Andrea at (555) 555-5555

Invitation Wording for a Formal Event

If you are going to be throwing a more formal wedding shower, you should adjust the wording accordingly. Here is an example to inspire you:

Andrea Smith & Jane Doe

Request the Pleasure of Your Company

at a Shower Honoring

Jennifer Lane

the second of June

two o'clock in the afternoon

Dixon Valley Country Club

Dixon Down Road

Dixon, Texas

Regrets only (555) 555-5555

Issues You Need to Consider

Registry information is something else you may be wondering about. Of course, wedding invitations should never include this information but etiquette rules do allow you to include the gift registry information in the shower invitations. However, you don't want to resort to adding those cards handed out by the shops. Those are always a bit tacky. Instead, add the information to the rest of the wording. You might want to write "Kelly is registered at Neimen Marcus" or "Bridal registry information available at Pottery Barn." Of course, if you don't feel comfortable including this information, just be sure to let people know when they respond.

Make sure when you are writing the bridal shower invitations wording that you only include one RSVP or response contact. If you have more than one, you could end up confusing guests about which one to use to tell you if they are attending or not. Plus, you could end up getting duplicate responses or being confused because some bridal shower guests called one number while others called the other number. Only one of the bridesmaids should have that responsibility. Consider choosing a number attached to an answering machine or voice mail for the convenience of your guests.

The bottom line when you're dealing with bridal shower invitations wording is to provide all of the details about the bridal shower but also to keep the card in line with proper etiquette rules and the tone of your event.
